En un esfuerzo conjunto por el fortalecimiento continuo de los programas de formación profesional de la industria ante los retos de la competencia global, con el involucramiento de la Comisión de Vestuario y Textiles (VESTEX), el Instituto Técnico de Capacitación (INTECAP) recibirá por medio del Ministerio de Trabajo y Previsión Social (MINTRABAJO) y el Ministerio de Economía de Guatemala (MINECO), apoyo técnico y financiero por parte de la Agencia de Cooperación Internacional de Corea (Korea International Cooperation Agency – KOICA).
Durante una ceremonia de gala KOICA, MINTRABAJO y MINECO estrecharon aún máslos lazos de amistadentre Corea y Guatemala a través de la firma del Acta de Discusión del Proyecto “Establecimiento del Taller de Capacitación de Alta Tecnología en Vestuario y Textiles” .
Este nuevo proyecto consiste en ampliar los servicios para satisfacer las necesidades de capacitación que actualmente ofrece el taller para este propósito ubicado en el Centro Guatemala I del INTECAP. Por más de cinco años, este taller ha funcionado con éxito impartiendo cursos completos sobre mecánica de maquinaria, patronaje industrial, programas CAD, sistemas de producción, mejoramiento de la calidad, entro muchos otros temas.
La expansión incluirá las opciones de aprendizaje en un sofisticado laboratorio textil de alta tecnología (pruebas de color, resistencia, encogimiento, fricción, durabilidad, flamabilidad...).Se tiene proyectado iniciar el funcionamiento de estas nuevas áreas a partir del segundo trimestre del próximo año 2006.
Los principales usuarios de este taller han sido diseñadores, patronistas, gerentes de producción, supervisores, operarios, ingenieros de planta, gerentes de calidad, así como capacitadores, en aras del mejoramiento continuo seguirá formando tanto a la fuerza laboral actual como a la nueva mano de obra por integrarse a esta industria.
El Programa de Capacitación de KOICA tiene como objetivo primordial contribuir con los países en vías de desarrollo para lograr su progreso económico mediante el refuerzo del recurso más importante de la sociedad: el recurso humano.Con esta visión, desde 1991 KOICA ha apoyado diversas áreas de capacitación para el crecimiento industrial y regional.

In a joined effort for continuous strengthening of the industry’s vocational training programs to face the global competition challenges, with the involvement of the Apparel and Textile Committee (VESTEX), the Technical Training Institution (INTECAP) will receive through the Ministeries of Labor and Social Prevision (MINTRABAJO) and Economy (MINECO) technical and financial support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
During a special ceremony, KOICA, MINTRABAJO and MINECO reinforced even more the bonds of friendship between Korea and Guatemala by signing The Project Discussion “Establishment of the High Technology Training Workshop for Apparel and Textile".
This new project consists in expanding the services that the workshop currently offers in order to satisfy the training necessity of this industry.The facilities are located in Guatemala Center I of INTECAP.For more than five years, this workshop has successfully worked giving out complete courses about machinery mechanics, industrial patternmaking, CAD programs, production systems, quality improvement among other topics.
The expansion will include learning options in a sophisticated high technology textile laboratory (color tests, resistance, shrinking, friction, durability, flammability...) It is planned for those areas to begin functioning in the second quarter of 2006.
Designers, patternmakers, production managers, supervisors, operators, plant engineers, quality managers, as well as trainershave been the main users of this workshop and to mantain the continuous improvement it will keep training not only the current labor force but also the new one to integrate this industry.
