La Industria Textil de la Región de Centro América y El Caribe se ha visto sumamente impactada luego de los acuerdos comerciales que le brindan ciertas ventajas arancelarias y de cuota a los productos textiles hechos en la región, que se exportan hacia Estados Unidos de Norteamérica...El CBTPA.

Antes del CBTPA la región producía un aproximado de 160,000 toneladas de tela al año, mayormente producida en Guatemala. Hoy por hoy, existe una capacidad instalada en la región de aproximadamente 290,940 toneladas al año, la cual continúa creciendo de manera importante, primordialmente en Honduras y El Salvador. Esto significa un crecimiento de alrededor de un 82% a partir del CBTPA
